PHH supports the “Independent” program

15/09/2025

Polish Hotel Holding has, for the third year in a row, partnered with the “Independent” program of the PFR Foundation, supporting young people from foster care entering the labor market.

As part of the cooperation, last weekend Polish Hotel Holding, together with Regent Warsaw Hotel, hosted participants of the 6th edition of the project. The young people had the opportunity to learn about the realities of working in hospitality and the prospects for professional development through the offered paid internship.

An internship in a hotel is a valuable opportunity for the project participants to gain professional experience, develop interpersonal skills, and learn about the labor market, constituting an important step into adulthood and a potential career path in our industry, emphasizes Karolina Sawicka, HR Division Director at Polish Hotel Holding.

PHH provided comfortable accommodation in a five-star hotel for the participants and their guardians. Importantly, this year the offer of paid six-month internships has been extended to all hotels and properties of PHH across Poland, as well as to the headquarters of all companies within the Capital Group. After completing the program, each intern will receive formal certification and references.

During the intensive weekend gathering, 28 young people took part in a variety of workshops, and on Sunday toured the Regent Warsaw Hotel, where they were given a detailed presentation of internship opportunities at PHH.

Since 2019, the PFR Foundation has been consistently running the “Independent” program to equip young people leaving foster care with key competencies needed in the labor market. As noted by Magdalena Grzankowska, President of the PFR Foundation: – We believe in the enormous potential of every young person, and our priority is to provide them with the necessary tools and support to successfully begin their careers and pursue their aspirations.

This year’s project partners also include the Central House of Technology, with honorary patronage provided by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy. The media patron is Super Express. To date, thanks to the involvement of 65 expert volunteers, the “Independent” program has trained 140 participants, conducted 157 hours of workshops, and 152 hours of individual consultations.
